3D Lenticular Effects

The 3D effect is simply layer upon layer of lenticular lenses which fool the human eye to see the flat image in all 3 dimensions. The illusion of depths requires more images than the flip effect and also adheres to more definitive constraints.

3D lenticular printing is ideal for grabbing initial attention with a protruding image that literally pops out at viewers. 3D lenticular printing can be added to virtually any image as it simply requires more layers of the same image all with slight variations. The realistic illusion of depth that 3D lenticular art offers makes it great for promotional items.

Most of the combined lenticular printing projects begin with a 3D effect in order to give the overall template a realistic feel. Often combinations of lenticular images are then put on top of the 3D effect to create motion or morph effects as well. The 3D effect is one of the more appealing lenticular lenses simply because it gives us a two-dimensional image that is much more realistic and entertaining to view.

TIP: Color choice and placement play a large role in the optimum 3D effect. Neutral colors in the background and brighter colors in the foreground work best.
